My dad is terrible for speeding. My mother always has to nag him to keep to the limit. Which by the way you shouldn't exceed by more than 5 mph. The time it takes you to slow down or stop in emergencies is greatly increased by every increment of 5. More important in built up areas than motorways of course. I'm a believer that there should be no maximum limit on a motorway. |

I agree. Always try to go no more than 5 over unless you're on a highway. Most small towns are speed traps. |

What really aggravates me most about drivers are reckless morons that speed like hell. I mean really, why do you even do it? Are you trying to boost your self-esteem by driving fast? i just don't even know. Also, people who blast their s*ity Hip-Hop music thinking their badass by playing it. Those people should get hit in a car crash because the less of those people make me happier. |

I generally just speed at night. When I come home from school at 10:00 there are generally no cars out. The main road in my city only has a 60km/h speed limit, so I usually go 80-100 on it. It's stupid because that's like a $1000+ fine here so I need to be careful. |

I'm generally speaking about people that put people at risk with their incompetence by speeding recklessly without any regard for others. Those are the people who deserve to lose their license really. I'm 19 and I don't have a G1 mainly because I don't want to deal with these kind of people. Even if I do get my full G, i'm going to drive as infrequent as I can and take public transportation most of the time. Edited by Yusuke, Oct 21 2014, 04:59 PM.

Reminds me of nighttime on country lanes. Some of the most dangerous roads in the country to speed on but pump up that classical music on the radio and it's hard not to whiz around those hedgerows. |

The speed limit around here is 60 until you get on more open freeways. I automatically go to 70 when I get on the freeway regardless. On residential and business streets, most people go 5-10 over anyway, and we generally don't pull people over for that unless you're in a "targeted vehicle" (aka vehicles that most often get stolen) or we've been instructed by a supervisor to increase the frequency of traffic stops. You'd be surprised at how many cops don't like doing traffic stops and would rather avoid it if they can help it. That said, I don't see a big problem with speeding as long as it's not reckless. Going 120 in a 55, like I did a couple times yesterday, is reckless, I'll admit that. Just know your car, your limits, and mind the conditions. I'd be more accepting of a Corvette going 100 in a 70 (gosh, the memories going that fast on the way to Oklahoma ) than a little Ford Focus because the Vette is built for that kind of speed whereas a Focus is simply not. Going slow is more of a detriment than speeding in my eyes.I also agree with a post before mine about turning slow. Being cautious at a turn, I can understand, but taking a whole minute to turn and at the same time holding up the lane that's not turning, is a troll and I rage so hard when it happens to me. I also hate it when at a stop sign or at a light, when there is plenty of space for a car making a left turn to stand on the side to allow people going straight or right to get by. I just hate it when they don't even attempt to be considerate and stand in a good spot. That's something I try to do whenever possible. |

Trying to be cool by drifting or doing a burnout in residential areas while having a stupid monster truck sized exhaust that makes a f*** load of noise. Or the ones that rev up then make a banging noise, so many times a***** round here with those have went past and made me like "I've been shot!" Those and people who use their highbeams when you're walking on the road, you can clearly see me put the f***ing beams off what if I'm blinded and fall on the road or something? Are you so bad a driver that that extra few feet of vision at night is absolutely necessary? And as said needlessly slow drivers. My nan who's like 70 and has arthritis still goes just over the speed limit on main roads. People who drive fancy expensive convertibles with the top down or supercars that speed past everyone. I know you're compensating for something pal but calm it down just because you can overtake everyone doesn't mean you can't get in a stupid accident. |

The way I look at this situation is how does it effect me on the road and as a pedestrian. From worst to least; 1. Drivers that don't signal when entering a roundabout, don't signal when driving fast on a motorway (speed limit over 100km/h) or even turning left or right. As a pedestrian I find frustrating to cross the roads when the driver don't signal. As a driver it pisses me off. 2. Drunk drivers. Statistics show people who assume alcohol (over the limit) and operate heavy machinery have the worst record - crashes. 3. Drivers that don't pay attention on the road (typing on their phones, talking on their phones). 4. Speed kills. Teenagers or adults, who think racing on the streets is cool often result in fatal crushes. When I mean speed, I don't just mean 10-15km/h over the speed limit, I mean 50km over the limit, some idiots driver around 170km/h to 200km/h around the highway and main streets. |

People who don't look when they are pulling out of a turning. For some reason when I'm in the car, it always seems to be women. |

Middle-aged women and old men are the worst drivers. That and teenagers. Or young cocky guys with big egos. So pretty much everyone. And just today I was reminded of another thing I hate about other drivers. I was stuck in really bad traffic this morning. It wasn't moving at all, and it was really frustrating. Some idiots had the nerve to drive around other cars on the side road (or whatever the heck you call it), which is just plain stupid and extremely dangerous. Hundreds of people are going to be late for work, school, whatever, but that doesn't mean that you should get special treatment and endanger everyone else. Ugh. |

Sorry, but what? What am I compensating for? I hate this attribution. I know my fair share of guys that own "supercars" and they're in it for the love of the machine, like I am. There are those guys who get the newest GTR or something just to show off and wave daddy's money in everyone's faces, but those are more often the young ones in their teens and early 20s. Not to say I don't show off from time to time, burnout at a light, but it's not the main reason I got the car.
I guess that bothers people more than it bothers me.
Same here. When I'm not working, the culprit to near-miss crashes and just general stupidity on the road, in my experience, is from women. 80% of the time, I'd go as far to say, with 10% being the elderly and the remaining 10% being everyone else. My mom is a great driver, really safe and not courteous, so I'm not attempting to speak for every female driver. It may be bad to say, but whenever something stupid goes down on the road, one of my first responses is, "Is it a woman?"
The shoulder? Yeah, that's illegal. That's reserved for emergency vehicles and emergencies in general. What if someone is in that lane with a woman in labor, or a sick child, and you go thinking you're special and smash right into them? It's stupid. I've done it a few times, but not in heavy or jammed traffic, and that was when I first got my first Mustang. |
